Past Pictures & Clippings from My Mom

I was in 8th grade, playing with the band Emanon @ IS2. Playing a Univox bass

This was an article in the Wagner College paper about Dino Rocco and I performing as an acoustic duo.

Yosemite Photo Tour 2013

I screenshot this today. I'm the one on the floor in the front with the awesome hat (that I can't find, I think my kids took it).  The image to which Benji is referring is on the title page of my site, just scroll to the right.

Gary Hart (bottom right) and the group. I really miss it.

Making the Most of the Slow Season

It actually hasn't really been that slow, but at least a little slower. I am taking time to organize my equipment inventory at L&M and adding new technology to the design palette for us all. I am very grateful for college winter recess because both my son Rudy and my Godson Joseph have been working each day at the shop. They are both so smart and talented.  It's really been a pleasure.

The Christmas Season with the NY Philharmonic

I had a tremendously challenging and fulfilled Christmas season as sound designer, rental provider and audio engineer for my favorite band the NYP @ Avery Fisher Hall. The month was busy with a Young Peoples Concert, Holiday Brass with Lee Musiker and his trio, the orchestra with Brian Stokes Mitchell conducted by Ted Sperling, and finally Igudesman and Joo with special guest Joshua Bell conducted by maestro Alan Gilbert. I am happy to report that all reviews were favorable and complimentary and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. The IASTE crew performed amazingly well installing L-acoustics Kara and K-Array loudspeakers with Sennheiser wireless controlled by Midas Pro Series console.  A special thanks to Alex Johnston, operation manager for enabling my creative ability to technically design.  Please visit the NY Philharmonic, become subscribers, and bring your friends.

The Wolf of Wall Street Premiere NYC

I was so pleased to be involved with the Wolf of Wall Street premiere after-party at Roseland Ballroom. It's always exciting to meet many talented actors and the technical people from the movie industry, especially since our 2 industries don't often come together. I was sad to hear that they are officially closing Roseland Ballroom--what a history.  Thanks to 1540 Productions for the opportunity.  They did a wonderful job designing the ballroom.  And thanks to DJ Coleman for the great performance, as always, and making our audio sound special.

A New York Philharmonic Christmas

Today is one of my favorite shows to mix audio. The Phil's brass section with Lee Musiker- piano, Jay Leonhart- bass, Rick Cutler- drums. Lee is a rare breed, he is most known for his arranging, playing and musical directing of the Tony Bennett Duet recordings.

Gallery 2013

A heartfelt thank you to all! Last night was a tremendous success both creatively and financially. We raised thousands of dollars for both charities while sharing and enjoying good food and good company.  I am sincerely grateful for the accolades and warm wishes with regard to the gallery art. I will post pics of the show soon. Thank you.

Gallery for Charity

Working very hard preparing all the printing and framing for the gallery next week. We will all be grateful when I have my living room back to normal.  All the larger images are taking up room at my L&M shop.

Tonight at the Count Basie Theater in Red Bank, NJ

Dan Monaco, L&M Sound & Light's 20 year veteran audio engineer, drove the audio console at Pheonix Production's "A White Christmas" to close out their 2013 season. I have been the audio designer for Phoenix for 20 years while Dan has engineered the majority of their productions. I attended this weekend with my family and friends hoping that I would be able to hear everything while trying to enjoy the show, but what I heard was so good I could hardly enjoy the performers, I was too busy smiling at the work Dan Monaco had done. Dan engineered the same way a good maestro drives an orchestra, a clear understanding of the score and book and an integral part of the sonic landscape. Congratulations Dan for a superior job!  All of us at L&M are proud of you.

A congratulations to Tom Martini and Phoenix Productions for continually raising the bar for community theater in our country.

Inspired by Nature, Encouraged by People

The last four days in Yosemite were wonderfully fulfilling, both with inspiration and encouragement. The people I had the pleasure of being with on this photo outing were talented, humble, kind and intelligent, all coming from different backgrounds. The teacher, Gary Hart, was intimate with the park's beauty, enabling us all to get a glimpse. His talent and passion helped me capture some of this park's energy with each image. Thank you Gary, Don, and every person in the group for your friendship and expertise.

Photographing Yosemite National Park

So I flew from New York to San Francisco and then rented a car to drive five hours to Yosemite National Park. This is the first time I have ever been to Yosemite, and it is truly spectacular. I have only been here a day, but what I have seen so far is wondrous. I will try to track the trip with some daily images. Hope you enjoy them.

These shots are from Half Dome with the moon rise.

3rd Annual Gallery for Charity

This is a big event for me, and I would appreciate it if you could spread the word by right clicking to save the flyer, and emailing it to your friends. This will be a proud moment exhibiting my art, in my studio, fulfilling my dream, of raising money for those in need. I want "my art to matter" while inspiring other amateur artists to work with passion and purpose, not just for themselves, but for others. I will also be announcing a new foundation MYARTMATTERS.COM, a place for other artists to create with a greater purpose.

Today with Guitarist Pablo Sainz Villegas

I met Pablo with the NY Philharmonic several years ago and was truly amazed with his ability as a concert performer. Having worked with John Williams, Elliot Fisk and other masters I had a high standard so I was excited to tell him how I felt. Of course he, not knowing me, probably thought I was just another adoring fan (which I am). Here Pablo and I are testing a K-array KB1 with several different microphones creating custom presets for his next Philadelphia concert. We are doing this in the L&M Sound & Light production facility. Bravo Pablo! Please visit Pablo's website to see wonderful performances and interviews.

Food – A Valuable Commodity for Keeping your Family Together

I'm always amazed at the attention I immediately receive when I announce "pizza night" in the backyard. As often as I can, I make fresh dough, put the wood in the outdoor oven and hope it doesn't rain. If you knew me one might argue that being a chubby Italian, I just enjoy eating pizza, however the real reason is it is an excuse to keep my whole family together, enjoy each other's company and influence.
Please notice the K-array apron which was a gift from my friends in Italy.
